A woman cries out,
Nobody hears.
She cries out again,
Nobody hears.
The woman goes within her womb,
To find her answers.
To herself has been faking it, holding back and disastrous,
It’s time to love enough to face her fears.
She is ready to risk being foolish, neurotic, naked and seared,
Risk being punished, cast out, losing everything she knew.
She summons up the courage and bellows out what is raw, mad and true,
Everybody hears …
They want to shut her down,
They want her to be wrong.
She should do it this way, no like that,
She should not have such an alarming song.
“Stop her now!” they wail,
Crazy bitch, she is causing everyone harm.
She is set up as the scapegoat, the villain,
So they can suck more energy and protection as poor little victim.
They do not want to hear her,
She is out of control, put that muzzle back on!
Shut that dangerous witch up any way you can!
Shut her up now lest she defy the constraints of ‘civilised man’.
Silence that banshee, lest she releases every woman,
And spreads chaos and destruction that will liberate every ‘human’.
She wonders if it is betrayal she feels by her lover’s turned back,
As he dons a mask to cover up his fearful slack?
This is the man she trusted, he wanted to see her ALL,
It is he who called her beyond her edge of comfort and control.
It would be easy for her to say,
“See, this is why I don’t want to expose all of me in any way”.
But now she knows her heart’s true courage and capability,
With compassion she thanks him, unhooks and sets them free,
Because she knows now she is willing to die a thousand deaths,
To liberate within you and me, the God and Goddess.
As I finish writing this, I see where I have played all these parts - victim, villain, rescuer.
If you want to stop the victim paradigm, then remember that the perceived villain is an ‘Agent of Change’.
Be self-accountable and willing to unconditionally give up misery.
Love and accept every part of you.
Be compassionate to the suffering and defensiveness of others, especially to yourself.
Here’s to liberation from pain and fear, so we breathe and embody our true divinity.
